Third Annual Global Symposium on NanoBioTechnology

New Directions in NanoHealth:
Diagnostics, Therapies, Drug Delivery, NanoSafety

November 19 and 20, 2009

CNSI Auditorium

University of California, Los Angeles

The 3rd Annual Symposium on Nanobiotechnology will be held in the auditorium of the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) on the UCLA campus. The theme this year is "New directions in NanoHealth" Presentations will focus on diagnostics, drug therapies and delivery systems, nanosafety, and other related areas of nanomedical research. Special emphasis will be given to breakthrough discoveries from laboratories in Asia, North America, and Europe.

Initiated in 2007 as a joint collaboration between the Center for NanoBio Integration (CNBI) at the University of Tokyo and CNSI, the symposia have given an international dimension to nanoscience and nanotechnology by bringing together researchers from Japan and the United States. Following on this global theme participants this year will be from institutions in Korea and Germany. Taking part are the Nanomedical National Core Research Center at Yonsei University and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU). The last two form the core of the NanoSystems Initiative Munich (NIM), a project funded by the German government and the state of Bavaria.
